Used Oil Collection
The Collection scheme offers:
- Regionally based used oil processing at end-user plants throughout New Zealand
- A co-ordinated approach from Fulton Hogan to allow used oil processing only to consented and approved end-users
- The implementation of the Product Stewardship Requirements under the provisions of the Waste Minimisation Act, 2008
We also sponsor the Oil Recycling initiative.
R.O.S.E. (Recovering Oil Saves the Environment) provides collection capability across New Zealand and a nationwide system for the storage, collection and environmentally monitored and regulated disposal of used oil.
Taking Care of Your Equipment with Shell Care
The impact of a lubricant related failure can cost businesses in lost production time, replacement components and staff costs.
Shell Care is a specialised oil and equipment condition monitoring service which helps customers increase the performance and output of their equipment. Oil samples can be regularly tested at our New Zealand based accredited laboratory and analysed by a diagnostician.
A comprehensive web based report gives a ‘traffic light’ indication of oil condition including recommendations for operators to tackle potential problems. If results are concerning, the diagnostician will call the customer to discuss the results.
Lubricant Plant Surveys
We have experienced Lubricants Engineers who can conduct Lubricant Surveys to check your business is using the right lubricants for your engines and machinery.
We also offer Lubricant Audits, Lubricant Training as well as Storage and Handling Advice to help you understand your lubricants and their function as well as maintain safety standards around your equipment.
We have lubricants engineers who are experienced at working with key stakeholders to develop tailor made training packages that are designed to introduce the basics of lubricants & applications up to future innovation. An example of some training packages are as follows:
- Introduction to lubricants
- Principles of lubricants
- Lubricant application training
- Oil condition
- Evolving lubricant technology
We can currently offer a unique position within NZ in offering an Engine Inspection Check. This involves trained Shell Lubricants Engineers conducting non-invasive techniques of investigation by utilizing boroscopic equipment to aid in trouble shooting and failure diagnosis.
